Back to my roots, literally!!!

Hi guys! So I finally got a break and thought that a blog would be nice :D

So as you all know, I dyed my hair back dark. My profile picture has officially changed so you can see what I look like now. Its not dark actually but, it matches the color of my roots so that makes it too dark for me. Well not too dark, I actually love it. I miss my white hair but, the dark is nice too.

Its not just my hair color thats changed. Im embracing my natural texture. I have naturally wavy/ semi curly hair and all my life I have been straightening it to fit in with the "straight silky hair fad". But, since all my college classes are at 8AM I dont wanna wake up at the crack of dawn to shower and blow my hair out straight (if I sleep on my hair straight it gets all kinky and unmanageable). So, I decided I was going to shower at night and let my hair do its own thing. Amazingly enough, it looked semi cute and was really simple to style. So, I decided to search for a product that would enhance my curls.

I found this...

Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Gel.

I love this product. I probably WOULDNT love it as much if I used it after a shower in the morning. It does get a bit crunchy but, I sleep on my hair which brushes the hair out and makes it really soft and sweet. I shower at night, apply the gel and scrunch my curls, let my hair air dry for 2 hours (i dont recommend sleeping on it wet), and go to bed.

I think its time to embrace natural curls and stop torturing our hair. After a week straight of this I finally blow dried my hair out straight and it was so soft, healthy, and I could even tell it had grown longer!!!

Try this out if you have curly hair and want it to look great :D

It's too early for Theatre class and for blogging

Good Morning everyone!

Thanks for staying faithful during my tiny blogging Vacay. Your emails really made me feel good! I've just been so busy with college that blogging was definitely being overlooked!!!

I'm waiting on the arrival of my theatre professor right now so this won't be an actual informative blog. Well I guess it is since I informed you that I haven't died or anything. Well you get my point.

I plan to blog a real blog tonight but, that all depends on how much heworky political systems prof piles on!!!

It smells like Winter!!!

Hi guys!

Back to the laptop sooooo it shouldn't take me 5million years to type this blog!

I just have a quick product review so lets get right to it.

As far as fragrances go this year, I have been less than pleased. It is usually not hard for me to find a scent that I die for but, this year all I have been astounded with is Ralph Lauren's Notorious. That is, until my room mate came home with this...

Brittney, my roomie, is obsessed with all things Coach. She is a hoarder of coach bags and has about 7 Coach wallets and coin purses that she carries around with her. I have tried to break her of this obsession but, her parents ruined all my plans by purchasing this for her for Christmas. However, I am glad they did. This stuff smells AMAZING!

Its very warm and pleasant, with a slight cinnamon aroma and something that just triggers Winter in my mind. It has a slight sweet floral tinge to it but, nothing too overpowering or girly. In fact, it is a more musky deep delightful scent. I sprayed some on my wrist and cant stop smelling it. It is delectable!

The packaging is beautiful. Simple round glass bottle with the COACH label blatantly established on the front. The simple pink bow and gold detailed cap give it that Poppy feeling while not being too much.

Along with the perfume the boxed set came with a nice purse sized roll on edition of the perfume. Its size is much larger than the extra that most companies throw in. As well as a nice sized hand lotion. The lotion is, of course, much stronger to pair with the perfume and keep you smelling nice all day. I have noticed it is a bit sweeter than the perfume but, it doesnt over power you.

Its a great fragrance but, its a bit pricey. I don't know the exact price on it as it was a gift and I am a bit too lazy too look it up but, check it out. Its great!

And the drive home begins!!

Hey guys!

Blogging from my iPhone today so this one won't be lengthy. Just wanted to let everyone know I received my Sigma brushes yesterday evening and I am IN LOVE!

I will be doing a more in depth review of each brush including the free one I received with purchase, later this evening or tomorrow.

Last night Patrick accompanied me to the mall prior to my shift at VS and we hit some sales. The winter clearances are getting slim but, the American Eagle at our mall still had some great deals going on with a lot of good prices and selection. As of now, everything red-lined is 30% off the LOWEST ticketed price. That's great seeing a's most their Winter stock is already marked down to ridiculously low prices. (if you go to my YouTube vlog you'll find a video about the great deals I scored at AE a week or so ago).

We scored a Teal mens zip up hood for 20.96 (originally 29.95, a 8.99 savings), Pat got some jeans at regular price for 29.95, along with a thick yellow puffy coat for 20.96 (originally the same as the jeans). Last I grabbed some gray cargo Jennings for 10.96 (originally for 14.95). Now I think it's time to point out the "original" prices were actually the original sale prices. Each item ranged from 40-55 full price. Our grand total for the whole lot was 88.90, a steal at their original prices.

Today my mom joined Pat and I in yet another shopping adventure. I went back to AE and got a soft cardigan for 13.49 and a blue striped blazer for 30.68. At Buckle I splurged on a pair of dark wash BKE jeans at 78$ and at Wet Seal (not my usual shopping destination due to their faulty) I grabbed a pretty pink and cream dress with big cream flowers on the waistband for 25.99. I figured it was too cute to pass up even if it only lasts through a couple wash cycles.

Well, blogging from my phone=not the easiest task ever so I'm gonna hop. Just wanted to share my steals of the day with you guys!!!

Complete review of the BH cosmetics 88 Cool Shimmer Palette

Hello everyone!

So, as promised, I will be doing a complete in depth review of my 88 Cool Shimmer Palette by BH Cosmetics. Sorry for the long wait for it, I had to have ample time to test out EVERY color (well, almost every color, lol) and see what it was like!

First off all the packaging of this product is really streamlined and professional looking:

The black case has a patent to it and the big bold white lettering really just gives it a chic look. It being patent, however, allows finger smudges to show up very badly. I, being the clean nazi I am, wipe it off with a wet rag and allow it to air dry so it looks clean and untouched after every use! Also, I kept the small cardboard slip that it came shipped in and when I travel, I slide the palette itself back into the cardboard to prevent any scratches on the case. That's just me being very picky though ;)

One thing I was slightly disappointed in, was the size of the palette itself. The photos and video reviews by BH Cosmetic's obviously made it look much larger but, after much thought I feel it is an appropriate size. It allows for easy travel and storage.

Once you open up the palette after its arrival you'll notice the clear plastic sheet that covers the makeup. I HIGHLY recommend you do not trash that, as if you plan on traveling a lot it will just be one more insurance policy against your make up getting jumbled about.

I was instantly transfixed by the brightness of the colors! Everything is very pigmented and beautiful but, after my first few uses, I noticed how very powdery the formula's are. I'm glad I kept the plastic cover because just the gentle taps of my makeup brush would cause the shadows to dust up and it would get all over the outer rims. The plastic will keep the extra dust from getting into my other pigments.

Color quality when applied is good for the most part. The lighter shades of yellow, green, and blue need to be applied about 2-3 times for them to even stand out as a highlight color, while the darker shades just need a VERY gentle touch of the brush or else you are going to get too much color and look like a drag queen.

Here is an example of the colors provided:

My favorites to play with are the purples. They are very vibrant and rich, it makes a nice smokey purple eye for evening fun and different. The greens are VERY green. I mixed them with lighter shades of yellow and blues to create a peacock effect that I still wasn't 100% satisfied with and will be re-attempting on a later date. I am disappointed with the fact that there are only 2 true shades of orange and they are pretty much the same color. If you want to blend, you have to apply yellows several times to get a shade similar to an orange.

The browns and bronzes are very pretty and I feel the shimmer shows up the best in the more muted, neutral tones. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their selections of pinks. I am disappointed that in the Cool Shimmer palette that they do not include a lighter shade of red (Red is a very hard eyeshadow to come by, in the photos one of the colors looks similar to red but, in person is more of a brick color. In their other palettes they include reds).

All in all for the price you are paying you are getting your money's worth and more. This product isn't cheap but, comes close to high quality. I think with makeup theres no such thing as perfect, each product will have its flaws. For me BH Cosmetic's formula, pigments, packaging, and over all service will receive a 9 out of 10.

I hope you guys enjoy your day as much as I will enjoy mine, Patrick is coming over :D

I am on a ROLL today!!!

HELLO TO ALL!!!!

I am in such an amazing mood today! Despite the fact that I virtually have NO hours at work for the next few weeks and it snowed and iced here last night, preventing me from enjoying the outdoors, things still seemed to work their way out!

Explanations? I feel so! I have been looking for a second job to help me overcome the annoying fact that I have not been getting put on the schedule at work. I was hoping to get something horse related and after making a few calls, my hopes were getting squished. BUT, fear not faithful readers, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I randomly stumbled across a lady who is in need of a trainer to work with her Arabian mare, Cutie, for she has developed some bad habits. And after speaking with her, she felt I was fit for the job! I am prepared to be thrown but, still I am very excited about getting out there with my training skills!

THEN, if it couldnt get any better, I stumbled across another lady who told me about the discounted lessons price for SEMO students to take English Riding lessons if they compete with the English Club at school. AND YOU DONT HAVE TO OWN YOUR OWN HORSE! Im so joining!!!! I cant wait to learn to ride English because then that makes my training skills more marketable.

Thats all I felt the need to blog about today, its a bit of a bragging blog (a brog?) but, who cares! Life is good!

Much love!

It USED to take a lot of work to make this hair look good. Not anymore

Hello all!!!

Sorry for my bit of absence there. Life has been...crazy to say the least. I have still yet to get my Sigma brushes because the United States Postal Service SUCK at their jobs. But, they should be in soon....I hope. I have been having SO much fun with my new BH Cosmetics pallet. I plan to share some of my fun colorful looks with all of you soon :D They have been a big hit around town so I hope you guys will enjoy them just as much.

Today I just have a short product review!!!

Let me start off by saying that I have ridiculously thin and fine hair. No matter WHAT I do to it, it falls flat by the end of the day or winds up looking dry. If you watch my videos, you know Im a big fan of full and fluffy hair (fluffy makes me seem dog like, woops). I had a hair spray that I really loved, Brit Style by Graham Web. But, as they always do, Graham Webb cancelled that product. I was heartbroken, I have literally tried almost every hairspray on the market and was afraid I wouldnt find something to replace it.

And then I found this...

Enjoy Professional Hair Care's hairspray.

Note: My can has a different packaging then this, I was told there was a recent packaging change. But, its the same product.

I was worried because I was told it was a rather dry formula but, after a couple weeks of use I find that I really like this spray. It is quite dry but the more moist formula's are very sticky and often clump the hair together. This really has nice hold to it but, allows the hair to fall slightly through out the day while still holding the style. I recommend this to anyone wanting firm hold that still allows shine, texture, and still keeps the hair soft and not crunchy to the touch.

Its a real solid product for building foundation in a hair style. I really do love this. Toe to toe with Brit Style, I say it almost exceeds it. Brit Style would get sticky as the formula got older. I trust this product with my hair which is a big deal!!!

I have new videos up on my youtube, remember to subscribe in order to be entered for the give away!!

Why is it SOOOO cold?

Well folks, Missouri weather is bouncing around and I just can't handle it!!! Lol. One day its warm and 60 degrees and now its 40 degrees and the wind is blowing so hard that a good hair day is NOT possible. Not liking that for two reasons, A) I like to have good hair days and B) if I dont have good hair days I cant take photos of my new hair to show you guys! It seems like every photo I take my hair looks bad, the lightings bad, or the color doesnt show up right. OH WELL.

My Sigma brushes should come in today, Im just waiting for the mail to arrive. Im very impatient so its not working out so well lol. The real excitement will be using them for the first time tomorrow!!!! Trust me, reviews will be posted ASAP.

I'm loving every color in my BH Cosmetics pallet so far. I still wanna try some more of the colors before I do an in depth review but, so far- AMAZING. I have played with the purples and the burgundies and charcoals. The mix of shimmer and rich pigment makes for amazing fun eye looks. Plus with my darker hair I can play with tons of more colors. With my white hair, using pinks washed me out but, now they should look phenomenal so I cant wait!!!

Tomorrow I will release a new prize that will be in the gift basket! Remember to have your friends check it out and to subscribe!!!

:D :D :D :D Excitement all around!

Hey everyone,

So its 7:41am and this will be the ONLY time I actually get to sit down and enjoy my day off. I am so busy today so as you can imagine, a full length blog is not in the cards to day. I just wanted to share my exciting news.

For those of you who do not follow my youtube vlog (which, you should lol) I received my 88 Cool Shimmer Pallat by BH Cosmetics yesterday and its AMAZING. The colors are so beautiful and pigmented. I can't believe it. There is a video up of me opening the box and my first reaction to the colors so you can check that out if you are interested. Some tutorials and a more in depth review will be filmed over the next few days.

Today I have no flex in my schedule. 9:30 am, get my oil in my car changed. 10am go to the Dexter Animal Shelter and take photos of the dogs for their website that I run. 10:30am go meet a lady in town to sell some of my handbags. 11am got to my hair appointment in which CHANGE will be happening. Whenever that gets done Im off to my friend Brittney W's to ride horses until it gets dark. Then Im having dinner with my family and FINALLY I get some rest time after that as I go to Patricks until late in the evening when I will be returning back home to Cape.

I think I might even post the puppies pictures on here for the fun of it. I know most of you PROBABLY cant adopt them seeing as my audience range is more big city and out of Missouri but, I think itd be neat to show you guys what I do on a bi-weekly basis!

Anyway, have a happy 6th of December everyone!

And dont forget to subscribe so you can be one step closer to winning the give-away :D TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

A Rant, A Rave, and A Review!!!

Hey guys!
So from my title I'm sure you can assume that today has been a crazy day!

First off all, today was the great beginning of the Semi Annual Sale at work and I had to be in to open the store at 4:30 AM. WHAT THE HECK????????????????? I am exhausted. I cam home, crashed, napped, and now I am starting to slowly get around for the day.

Surprisingly, my rant does NOT have to do about work today (in fact, my rave is work related, WHAT???) My rant has to do with people purchasing used high quality products and offering dirt low prices. Example: I am helping my room mate sell four of her used Coach purses. These bags are less than a year old, come with their dust bags and the original tags that where on them when she purchased them, and are in amazing condition. Like Britt is CRAZY about how she babies her Coach bags. She has an obsession and it killed her to decide to let go of some. So, I told her I would help her, listed them for 100$ a piece (her price, I personally think thats pretty low but, whatever she wants!!!) and signed off.
An hour later I have 2 responses. One lady would like to purchase two, the other is interested in one that the first lady liked. Brittney had me tell the first lady she would like 200 for the two but, if she wanted to make another offer, she would listen to it.
THIS IDIOTIC LADY OFFERS 100$ FOR THE BOTH OF THEM Really? 50$ a piece? ARE YOU CRAZY!!!!????

Folks, if you are buying upscale USED bags, dont be CHEAP about it!!!!!! Be happy with the quality of the bag you are getting, or whatever product you are purchasing. It is ok to make counter offers but please, be respectful when making them!! The product and the seller deserve that. Brittney has invested a CRAPTON of money into her Coach collection, no way would she undersell herself. It just really peeved me off, as you can tell.

Now, off to my rave :D
I purchased SEVERAL things at work today for an amazing price. For about 135$ I got four bras and five pairs of panties. These bras were originally 50$ each and the panties were originally 3 for 30$ but, I got AMAZING deals at the Semi Annual Sale. You guys should definitely go to your local Victoria's Secret and check out the deals. Its AWESOME!

And lastly, the review!!!
This product will be DUN DUN DUN PART OF THE GIVE AWAY BASKET!!!!!!!!!

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss!!!

There will be 3 of these offered in the January/February give away basket. I have yet to decide on colors that I will offer but, there will most likely be a sheer pink, a bright red, and some random color.

I LOVE these lip glosses. They dont get sticky, they go on so smooth and silky, and they have beautiful luster to them. I put them on top of my brightest and matte lipsticks to really make the colors pop. Great for a single application for the day time or on top of lip color for evenings out. They are 7$ a tube or 4 for 20$, however since I am a sales associate I can not receive the 4 for 20$ with my discount so I will have to buy them separately.

Look at my previous blog for the rules about the give away and be sure to tell your friends!!!

Pretty little liars, presents to myself, and plenty of time for napping :D

Hey everyone!!!

Im off work already for the day. Since the SEMI ANNUAL SALE is going on at work, my shift was from 6am to 10am. I had to do floorsetting, basically we re-arranged the store at ridiculous early morning hours. It was SOOOO tempting because some of our makeups are 75%. Luckily, smart me made myself leave my wallet in the car early this morning to avoid the temptation. Now, I am in desperate need of a nap though! That is, until I saw that there is a Pretty Little Liars re-run all day in celebration of the new episode being released tonight :D CANT WAIT

Still no eyeshadow palette :( My UPS tracker estimates it will arrive on the fifth. I am extremely impatient so I dont know if I can wait that long but, I will try and survive! I am just imagining all the amazing looks I can create with 88 shadows of eye-color :D It will be worth the wait!!!

So as promised, I have a review for the ever popular Just Dance 2 today. Along with a surprise purchase that I have been saving up for (Reason A: on why I didnt buy the sale make up) a reveal of a surprise to be happening soon, and more info on the GIVE AWAY I will be hosting soon :D

First off: reviews!!

Just Dance 2 for Wii

The Wii has never been my favorite gaming console. Most of the time I am stuck to my computer palying WoW (not anymore though folks, cancelled my account!!!) or on the home Xbox playing games such as Red Dead Redemption or COD. I am not really the girliest of gamers and the Wii pretty much screams "I am a sissy for playing any games on this console". Honestly, not many game producers create games for the Wii because they are never as successful as the ones created for PS2 or Xbox. But, when I moved to my apartment, I couldnt take the Xbox with me. Instead, I was given the Wii (The hand-me-down game console at my house)

I wasnt too keen on playing it...ever. That is until I played Just Dance 2 with my aunt when we visited for Christmas. That game is WICKED FUN! I may be partial to it because of my dance background but, if you are looking for a get physical and have fun kind of game, this one is for you. There isnt a moment that Im standing still or not smiling. Plus, this counts as my daily workout! I love it and have set up a program where I dance 6times a day everyday to help get fit, and stay that way. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Next up on the list :D
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I finally bought my first Sigma brushes.
I was fighting an inner battle with myself because at first, I wanted the Sigma brush sets (a cost up to 99.99) After looking more at the brushes within the sets and the prices of the individual brushes, I decided to just purchase the 2 I wanted most for now. I really dont need all the ones in the set anyway! Besides, I can always buy the ones I want later on instead of making one GIANT costly purchase.

Today I bought the

F60- liquid foundation brush

AND the

F35-tapered highlight brush.

I have yet to get an email from the USPS about my scheduled arrival of my product but, I cant wait!!! The F60 was 14$ and the F35 was 16$. Not a bad price in my opinion for the quality of the brushes. I toyed around with the idea of purchasing Crown brand brushes. (Youtube Celebrity, Fleur de Force recommended them to me for ladies buying brushes on a budget). I just didnt want to waste my money on having to purchase and re-purchase decent brushes when I could splurge a couple extra dollars and buy ones that I knew would last me a while.

PS my tips for purchasing brushes on a budget are too:
A) Search on Amazon or Ebay for new (or if you want used brushes). You can usually find nice
sets on there purchased by distributors.
B) Try looking on Hautelook.com. Every now and then they get discounts on really good brands
of make up and brushes (Crown was once on there!)
C) Check for end of the season sales on popular websites. Like clothing designers, makeup
artists have to clear out old inventory sometimes!!!

AND NOW for my big surprise.
Well, it will still remain a semi-surprise but, next Thursday I will be DRASTICALLY CHANGING MY HAIR COLOR. I hope its not DRASTIC drastic but, the color definitely wont be the same. I need a change before starting at a new college and I need to allow my hair time to rest from the every-3-week bleach/toner routine.

If you want to know more about the GIVE AWAY this is what you need to read
I am still searching for prizes. It will be a gift basket of several of my favorite products, some of which are already decided upon and I will be releasing a new item with each blog post.

THE FIRST GIVE AWAY SNEAK PEEK ITEM IS:

Nuetrogena's Pink Pomegranate oil-free face wash.

This product is one of my favorite drug-store products. I use it every day in the shower to clean my face (Soap dries out your skin and increases the appearance of aging) and to prevent any stubborn break outs!!

Rules SO FAR are:

YOU MUST BE SUBSCRIBED TO MY BLOG AND YOUTUBE CHANNEL
You must comment on the blog that I will title "GIVE AWAY"
I will need your Name and address to send you the prize (but will not ask for it after the winner has been selected)
If you are under 18 you will need to get parent approval since you will be giving me your address.
The winner will be chosen at random using a number counter online.

and the most important rule:
THERE HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 75 PARTICIPANTS IN ORDER FOR THIS GIVE AWAY TO HAPPEN

So- this will not happen until I get AT LEAST 75 subscribers on my blog and/or youtube channel. And I wont select a winner until there are 75 comments on the give away blog. There will be a deadline however, and if the 75 minimum is not achieved by then, then my roomie and I will save the give away for ourselves :D

There you have it folks, kind of long- Im sorry about that! But, tell your friends about my blog so we can go ahead and start aiming for that 75 minimum!!!

Love,
Meagan AKA Gunz

New years brings new products!!!

Hello to all! I hope your New Years was wonderful and grand. In the great state of Missouri it rained and stormed all night. So, Patrick and I ditched our plans and spent the evening watching television and building houses on the Sims. It may sound dull to some but, for us it was good fun!

So yesterday before the storms blew in I took some of my Christmas money and made a purchase I have been DYING to make lately. No, I have not bought my Sigma brush set yet, all though I hope too eventually. I am just trying to stay frugal with my money for now. But, this purchase is just as important to me. Actually, these PURCHASES are just as important!

First....

Estee Lauder's Lash Primer plus!!!

So I'm sure you can assume I bought a mascara to go with this primer but, the primer is what makes the mascara just a wee bit more amazing than what it already is! This primer is really smooth. I had no problems with clumping and I think part of that has to do with the wonderfully large and bristled wand. All though warning, I did somehow manage to get a bit in my eye and it was absolutely painful. Sure it always hurts when something lands in your eye but, the chemicals in the primers formula really aggravated my eye and it was bloodshot for the first few hours of the day. Other than my own blonde mistakes, this product gets rave reviews. I give it a 8 out of 10 because of its formula was definitely not eyeball friendly ;)

To pair with this primer I bought,

Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Mascara.

Let me tell you I am SOOOO picky about my mascara's. If any of you watch my Youtube Vlog then you know my old mascara diet consisted of two different mascara's, one with a thinner wand for my lower lashes and one with a large wand for my upper lashes. You see, my lash issue is that I have very long, very fine, very blonde eyelashes. So far, no mascara has been able to grant me the volume and coverage that I need to get my lashes to their fullest potential. Until now. Paired with the primer my lashes looked 5 times longer, 5 times thicker, and 5 times darker than ever before. I am SOLD on these two products.

If price is an issue, these products may not be for you. At 46.79$ for the pair I sacrificed a lot of cash but, for the quality, it was worth it. I am not sure as to the lifespan of fine quality mascara but, if it is just as good or better than the Maybeline I was previously using then it will last me a few months.

The mascara is often featured in photoshoots held by Harpers Bazaar in which the models are always looking their best WITHOUT the use of false lashes. That should tell you enough about this product.

If you arent sure about the hefty price tag, go into a Estee Lauder department and ask them to test the product on you. It's free AND you will get to see the results yourself.

Tomorrow I will be reviewing Just Dance 2 for Wii so expect a fun one :D

Remember folks, I am in NO WAY affiliated with any of the products I review. I pay my own money and make my own reviews, these are my own honest opinions.

But now, I must go do laundry and eat some crackers. I am starving. Goodnight all and welcome to 2011!!!

Love,
Meagan AKA Gunz
